Proposals for the extension and full refurbishment of a terraced house in Walthamstow. The design enlarges the existing outrigger kitchen to form a light-filled kitchen and dining space, using natural materials throughout. Externally, green glazed tiles are proposed to complement the garden setting.
The existing ground-floor bathroom is relocated to the first floor beneath a new vaulted ceiling, allowing the ground floor to become a continuous open living space. The ground floor level is lowered to improve head height and accommodate thermal upgrades. The first phase of refurbishment and energy improvements has been completed, with planning permission granted for the extension.
